Surf School - Equipment

Technology and high equipment standards have been loyal companions to EasyDrop since its founding in 1998.

The past years have proven that intelligent use of technology in surf teaching boosts tremendously the student's surf learning performance, so we believe a good surf school should not only provide a wide varity of surf boards, proper surf learning conditions and well prepared surf instructors, but also a high level of technologic equipment to support its students.

Take a closer look:

Our Surfing equipment

Our Surfing equipment

Our surf board stock comprehends about 50 boards of all shapes and lengths, made from polyester, epoxy, and soft foam material. Long boards made by traditional Polyester prevail in our surf board stock.

Our extra heavy duty short and long sleeve rash-guards are designed by us and manufactured exclusively for us by the most experienced rash guard supplier in Brazil. You get a new or semi-new rash guard forfree use during the class. If you opt for buying a new one instead (getting your preferred color and design), we will grant you a 45% discount on our normal shop price (btw you get that discount on all ourshop clothing items).

For cooler days (especially from June to August), we provide a large amount of spring suits, neoprene vests, neoprene shorts, all sizes and shapes (including many women models).

Further on we provide exclusive EasyDrop water- and wave-proof surfing hats and caps for eficient sun protection while surfing.

All our leashes are heavy duty stuff imported from Australia.

In-water radio system

In-water radio system

To ensure perfect communication during the surf lessons, EasyDrop instructors are interconnected through a system of waterproof radios, not found anywhere else in the world.

With this system, it is possible to follow up with the student immediately after surfing a wave, while still inside the water, for the instructor behind the video camera passes on his observations concerning the wave caught by the student through the radio to his colegues in the line-up in the water.

Normally instructors would not be able to see what a student do on the wave (due to the wave itself being in the way).

Video equipment

Video equipment

To allow high qulity video recording of all practical EasyDrop Surf Classes, we keep a permanent stock of 4 professional 3CCD camcorders, all with enough resolution to allow 100" screen projection view with high detail.

At our fast non-linear video workstation, the raw footage is edited into the weekly best-of DVD that is given for free to all students doing at least 6 days surfing with us.

For our surf class photo session every Wednesday and Saturday, only professional Canon SLR equipment is used. Our EF-only lenses provide focal lengths of (35mm-equivalent) 1400mm, so make sure your brush your teeth before going out there...

In water sessions are carried alternately to the tele-sessions with 300ft rated housings and 8+ MP Canon wide angle cameras.
